Willing to bet the people who keep protesting drag shows had no issue watching MASH growing up… weird. pic.twitter.com/DbIRjGYOa6

Chaser:

He dressed up like that to demonstrate that he was mentally ill and needed to be sent home from Korea.

MASH’s drag was Klinger trying to get a mental illness discharge, but they didn’t discharge him because he was sane enough to want out of Korea.

The others were a degenerate jew Berle and a cokehead nigger controlled by jews. However, audiences then didn’t know it.

A Korean War version of Catch-22. Klinger was acting a certain way to get out of the Army. The CO saw right through that.

You'd be crazy to want to stay...

Why would they have a problem with that? Klinger wasn't doing it as a fetish and trying to get kids to watch and/or do it too. Much like how few people gave any fucks about drag until they developed this collective obsession with bringing kids into it.

I guess they forgot that later in the show Klinger gave up the drag shenanigans he was using to try to get a Section 8 discharge (mental illness), wore regular army clothes, dated girls, got married to a gook woman and became a fine sergeant and company clerk after Radar left. In the end, he was more a man than most millennials these days.

The show portrayed it correctly. It showed that real transvestites are mentally ill and needed to be discharged from the army for their mental issues. Klinger was never put on Section 8 so he was clearly, by all doctor's accounts, not mentally ill. He eventually proved he was of sound mind and level head as he grew into his role in the war. Can't say the same for today's (((modern army))) service members.

Klinger always did a top notch job and was the best at what he did.

Drag was a rouse to get the elusive section 8.

He pretended.

Once the next world war starts, all you will have to do to get a discharged is say you are straight.

They walked right into that one.

Shouldn't you be listening to your "Boy George" albums??

Klinger wasn't trying to entice little kids into a perverted, depraved way of life. Those of us who watched the original airings saw the humor in a goofy guy trying to Section 8 himself out of a war and we didn't take it seriously.

Hot take? Shitty take. I barely remember watching the show, too young, but that guy was not a fag, he wasn't a "tranny", he was trying to game the system and get himself discharged from the military. And nobody bought his shit, because he was a normal guy, and he behaved like a normal guy outside of wearing the goofy dresses.

Now let's talk about Jethrine.

What was that about?

Now let's talk about Jethrine.

I had to look that up. I don't think I've ever seen a complete episode of that show.
