If you request time off for surgery the rail road wants the right to call you up 30 minutes into your surgery and demand you show up within the hour. If you fail to show, you are penalized. This allows them to push down wages and deny promotions. It doesn't matter if you have a doctor's note and notified them months ahead of time.
Why does Pete Buttgag and The Perverted Baggage thief get unlimited paid time off but actual workers have to be on call 24/7? I hate the union bosses as much as anyone else, but I support the workers in this fight. I guess the rubber will meet the road if they walk off regardless of if it results in being fired.
I'd support a bill that forces Warren Buffet to kiss the boots of every single one of his employees (a la blm). Then he should be on call 24/7 to clean their toilets whenever they eat too much mexican food.
