This is a trick. They are going to use this as a precedent to:
ban currency and go digital only
ban cursive writing, paper and instruments, going digital only
reduce personal contact so that all communication, going digital only
Sounds like the social credit system will be next.
I would like to argue that you're being paranoid but I really don't think you are...
There is some positives in this. Wait a bit and then buy up all the good quality cursive notebooks and pens at bargain discount prices. You'll have all you need for the next 20 years ... you know, while living in your pod and they try to punish you for wrong-think by turning off your computer privileges.
Isn't it interesting how the best Science Fiction stories are really just rooted in objective thought experiments?
