I literally just gave my next door neighbor some of my excess seedlings (pumpkin and tomato). I do this every year and we trade excess vegetables that we have.

Before they diversified Burlington, VT, I would walk everywhere. I got to talking to a sweet older lady neighbor about her cat and mentioned I had cats and guinea pigs. She took my hand and dragged me into her backyard and said to stop by any time and grab veggies for the piggies. I made her scarves and hats since I couldn't have a garden at my apartment. It's so nice when people can share.

We could have a community garden here but they are renting to ghetto fucks from Cali so it would all be destroyed, if not by their feral children, by them getting high and trashing it. I doubt they would know what growing food looks like.
