I never understood why people would spend that much on a diamond. They're cool and pretty, but despite the cool prism like effect they don't look unique. I received a bunch of loose sapphires and gems from a relative that I would like to make jewelry out of one day that are a bunch of unique shapes and colors. Go to the right spot and sapphires are actually very affordable, you can buy some of those stones for like 7-20$
Anyways any appeal for overpriced diamonds should have faded when we came out with a way to create diamonds by hand
