Lots of shit books were published for academia on holocaust and pogroms. Internet started to break out info and make critiques of jewish authors and their sources more available including via book reviews that called out the fictions and lies. Then internet started censoring and cultivating narratives in search results, burying the info that was being sought, and deleting critical reviews of the holocaust books. Today, it's still hard to get good search results on topics.
