I'm from a rural suburban area with farms about 5 minutes down the road. And I dated a girl that lived in New York City for a couple of months and she worked in fashion. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I went down to the city to go to one of her events and I was horrified. I actually told her I can't be here I don't feel comfortable. I was surrounded by gays and homosexuals and deviance everywhere she didn't quite understand why I felt uncomfortable. I was like I can't touch a countertop and not feel like I'm getting covered in male corruption. She didn't take me to anything fashion oriented until towards the end of our relationship.
