Picking cotton doesn't build a nation. Yard work and ditch digging doesn't build a nation. The nation was built by Europeans. Historically, blacks were never trusted with anything of significance. During the civil war some blacks proved themselves capible of more (fighting and dying). And again in WWII (Red Tail Devils). But in both cases they were pre-screened and did not represent the general black populations in America. Specifically in WWII, they were literally the best of blacks in America. Even still, this isn't building anything. Saying otherwise is also declaring horses and mules and oxen built the nation and not Europeans. People would laugh and point at such a declaration.
Even building the railroads, which were disproportionately Irish and Chinese, not black, isn't building a country. They were simply labor. Without them the work would still have been completed by the hands of Europeans. It would have cost more but it would have been completed. All of which was planned and used and leveraged exclusively by Europeans.
Even in most other non-European countries, Europeans played a huge part in the creation of their civilizations and country. In Africa specifically, they've built nothing. All of it was created by Europeans and Africans have done nothing but steadily return an entire continent back to the stone age. They were provided 19th and 20th century technology. They are slowly turning the dial back as they return to pre-19th century technology except were propped up by Europeans.
