Hope indeed is a dangerous thing, but there are two types of hopelessness - a hopeless man who know that no one is coming to save him, so he just rolls over and "embraces the clown world", and a hopeless man that realizes no one is coming to save him so he abandons all hope, rolls up his sleeves and gets to work.
