I suppose it is like having a friend who is addicted to narcotics or alcohol and is headed towards a tragic end. Logic and reason do not work. That person or that country has to hit rock bottom and come to the realization that a change is needed.

This is why I'm partial to accelerationism. We have to collapse before anything of value can be rebuilt.

National leaders lying to themselves and their subjects is not new.

. They lie about bank collapse due to federal reserve raising interest rates. That may be a small piece, but the real problem is derivative exposure and the unwinding of derivatives with no underlying assets.
