Refusal cost me my job and almost my house. I got through, but I don't blame those who caved into the pressure.

I called my employer on their bluff, but instead of openly refusing, I simply never submitted vaccination status paperwork, an exemption request, or even a word about it. I just ignored them, and they left me alone. This was a DoD contractor too.

I did the same shit. /ignore the emails and conferences -basically anything to do with Covid. I even got a nasty gram because I went on site three days in a row without filling out the “Covid risk assessment” a questionnaire on how you felt, been around Covid people recently, recent travel blah blah they would pull my badge to get in if I didn’t fill it out. Copied manager. I went in the last day day4 without filling it out again. Then told me nothing to worry about I won’t be returning to this site until normalcy is returned. Before vaccines came out I mentioned to my manager that there will most likely be a vaccine coming out for it. And told him I won’t for any reason, even employment, not be getting it. At the time he laughed at me.
In group meeting they were asking if for vaccine yet. Laughed and thought I was kidding when I stated he’ll no. Not me no way.
One is having heart problems. Another guy keeps getting sick now.

If they fired everyone they'd have to reconsider and hire people back. But yeah, it doesn't work if everyone's not on board (and if they don't have some savings to get by during the chaos).

They could have let me stay home and filed for paycheck reimbursement from the government. They would have lost nothing.
