Silver is cheaper, it can be fashioned into utensils and jewelry, it's a better conductor of electricity, and almost as good a conductor of heat, it's less dense.

Gold is limited to 14kt jewelry realistically anything above that is too soft and ablation becomes a serious issue, even cleaning gold jewelry can wear it away as gold dust.

You can't use it as utensils, its heat conductivity is only marginally better, and the resitance to tarnishing is countered by its softness.

Silver kills werewolves.

But why would you want to kill werewolves?

I've been stocking up on lead, myself.

I have a gold necklace with a silver swastika pendant

i agree silver to be better than gold in many ways, however some of your post is incorrect.

silver is a better thermal conductor https://www.eeweb.com/thermal-conductivity-of-gold-silver-and-copper/

silver is just as soft as gold https://www.jewelrynotes.com/the-mohs-scale-of-hardness-for-metals-why-it-is-important/

24k gold makes perfectly fine jewelry and it is absolutely spectacular. i wouldnt wear it or any other fine jewelry to play football or some shit though. https://mene.com/

It's close but not quite, and silver is more elastic which gives it a bit more toughness than 24kt gold. I was wrong about thermal and electrical conductivity, silver has gold beat in both.

Silver tarnishes -- gold never tarnishes. That's the difference that makes gold superior.

Storing X gold vs X silver... gold wins because it takes up 10 times less space.

If you had to carry your wealth on your back somewhere you would much rather have gold.

lead weighs more, and I'd gladly carry that.

Now that is just silly.

I'm being serious. If you were in a situation (and I know the likelihood of this is near zero) where you had to flee home with whatever possessions and rations you could carry. You are not looking to carry any extra weight.
