I witnessed the incremental slow change in this, I am in my late 30s. When I was a kid, in the 1980s interracial relationships were not really seen on television (I am sure some smart ass can find the exception to the rule) in the lat 1980s you'd start to see interracial relationships on TV between non-white people... I remember how taboo seeing "Mac" (black man) and "Quon Le" (Vietnamese woman) in a relationship on Night Court.
In the 1990s we'd see white men dating say, Mexican or Asian women on TV, but never black women or white women. Then we saw white men in relationships with black women in the early 2000s... now it's predominately black men and white, really white, women.
In the good old days, 1980s, it was seen as risque to date another white person of a darker skin color... for example Robin Williams' character in "Moscow on the Hudson" dating an "Italian" woman, not frowned upon but unconventional.
My meandering point is: I have seen the progression. They mover slowly and incrementally until one day the line you started out at is miles in your rear-view mirror: that's how the Marxists work.
