There was no need for nukes anyway, even if they were real. Japs were near starvation, out of medicine, no naval or air power left, no gas or diesel...simple US firebombings were very effective. US Navy ships calmly anchored off the coast, and slowly pulverized cities with 16-inch guns, day and night.
