He didn't have the memo. I'm not even sure he had the docs. I know he had the empty folders, that's what the FBI took from Mar-a-lago.
Hours before Trump left office on January 20th, Chief of Staff Mark Meadows gave the binder back to the DOJ, along with this memo. He asked the DOJ to make any Privacy Act redactions “out of an abundance of caution”. In the memo he asks they expeditiously release the binder when finished. Meadows foolishly expected this would take 3-4 days. It’s been 19 months and still not released. Just the News recently obtained the Meadows memo from the National Archives, who also denied having a copy of the declassified binder.
Lol, so they never made a simple declassification authorization copy. Gotcha, and that guy is suppose to be a lawyer.
Literally why many individuals make their own copies of important personal docs (passport/ birth certificate/ DL/ deeds/ wills etc ) in case some jerk off Govt Office or employee 'inadvertently' loses and misplaces the original.
Trump signed the declassified of the classified docs and handed it to Meadows for the follow through. I don't know whether Trump made copies (likely) or not. It was legal for him to make copies of the classified docs, but the bsckstabbers in DC could disappear his memo and claim he was copying classified docs. Hard to believe a POTUS has to invoke a CYA approach to everything, but the swamp is relentless.
