Tons of people die in custody, and NY liberals have a total irrational homicidal hatred towards him. If someone from the DA's office were to harm Trump, Bragg would probably not even charge the assailant. Furthermore, he could be denied bail if another state, like Georgia, requests extradition while he is in Bragg's custody. They could then have him in custody rotating the various charges and states for years even if he is found not guilty repeatedly. I have no idea what he should do from a legal standpoint, but there is clear evidence that the Biden DOJ is also involved in this as well. The secret service wouldn't even let clinton get served with a civil suit when they were supposedly under Trump's authority.
