On the topic of being a little dangerous, it came to mind that IMO, it's good to speak some industry jargon, if you want to be taken seriously. Over the years and through personal experience, I speak some decent machinist and plastic casting. It's helpful when you encounter responses like, 'Well we can't to X.' and you can respond with 'Why don't you try Y?". Usually that raises some eyebrows and the people you're dealing with see they can't simply wave you off without a real explanation.
