I think the main thing for me is being able to grow them inside when its cold and bring thm out to the greenhouse in the summer. Or vice-versa without fucking them up. Right now we might have 7 hrs of daylight and in summer its about 16hrs. So its hard to grow something that is dependent on light duration.
Well... What have you learned about light spectrum and flowering? Temp has nothing really to do with this plant as long as the temp involved is above 65 or so What do you know about Veg lights vs Flower lights? Plants need a veg light to grow and a flower light to flower... They need a veg light 24/7 and a flower light 11/13ish. You are essentially tricking the plant to make it think that fall is coming and it better get its ass in gear and make flowers since light is decreasing.
Autos are great. They are small though and if you get a few ounces dried and trimmed you are doing really good. Off of a big photo plant you can get a pound pretty easy but you have to be outdoors to really get that to happen. You are far north. If you can store weed, just plant your seeds indoors in like feb/march under a dedicated veg light. They will be small so its not like you need a room. A single bulb is more than enough. When they look good stick them in 5 gallon pots until frost passes. When frost is gone stick them outside in wire baskets lined with fabric. The BEST soil you can make. Probably 500 gallon pots? Something like that? Steady water and keep adding fertilizer through summer solstice. After that only water until they flower out then stop watering almost entirely so the buds start to dry on the plant. When you have nice flowers watch the pistils.
Ask the breeder who gave you your seeds what the pistols should look like and what the trichomes should look like when harvest is imminent. Then look for that. I like dopey weed so I harvest late. Some people like that twitchey stuff and harvest early. When you get your harvest dry it on racks until it is cracking crumbly dry. I like to shake it into crude hash so if this is your thing then do so and it stores better. If not then pack it somehow so its moisture and temp and light levels are appropriate.
To do more than one or 2 plants this way is pointless because there is no fucking way you could smoke that much weed. You will get a few pounds per photo plant this way. You would die of lung failure before you smoked it all. No reason to do autos under lights unless you are HIDING your grow... which means its illegal... which means you are the cops since all cops are drug dealers.
I've been starting them and keeping t5 bulbs at 16 hrs. When they start to bud I was told to drop it to 12. I put them in 10g growbags. Having them outside most of the time except the last month then I had to move 13 8 ft tall plants I to my basement and they were infected with mites. I got 1000 ladybugs to kill them and let them loose in my basement. The ladybugs shit these little black pellets that got all over the buds. I had to wash all of it in base/acid/water and get rid of the bugs and shit. I hung it all ~4.5lbs and stored it in gallon glass jars. I don't want to go through all that again. But I know there is a better way.
Kek... Just plant some seeds under a veg light in feb/march. Put them in like gallon pots. If your seeds are unknown bullshit (as opposed to feminized seeds) then you can trim a cutting off and stick it in a separate room under a 13dark/11light flower light and tell if it is a boy or a girl. Label it of course and yank the males and feed them to your rabbit (if you are growing weed you need a rabbit or a goat). The females then continue on under the veg light until temps improve.
See indoors sounds great, and it is because you, like a sith lord, have all the control but like the FED you have control but are a retard more or less and cant react properly so you end up with ladybug poop on your weed... Let go of your control and let Nature do the goddammed job. Help it out by giving a good start indoors and great soil and water in spring/summer. Its way way easier and it actually works. Otherwise get the spray and the chemicals and all that shit.
Alternatively buy feminized autoflower seeds and plant like 10x as many seeds in smaller pots and they will flower up in 90-120 days no matter what you do if you keep them above 65 degrees. The better you treat them the more you get. The worse you treat them the less you get.
