Who would have thought? Liberals from Cali would not be welcome in France.

From the post:

>A couple who moved from San Francisco to France just last year have already booked flights home after finding there was 'too much grief and no joy'. Joanna McIsaac-Kierklo, 74, and her husband Ed Kierklo, 75, had uprooted their lives to live out the dream in Europe. They decided to move away from the political climate in America, looking for 'civility, consideration and little to no gun violence... which Nîmes has all three', Joanna said. However, after a year, the retired couple found themselves struggling to make friends and became increasingly frustrated with French bureaucracy.

Every place is great for vacation, even India. Living there.... not so great. I remember my ex saying, let's move to the Caribbean. I said, no way! It's great for vacations but not to live. You're isolated and basically trapped on a small island. Food is expensive, gas and pretty much everything. No one to socialize with and so on.

Yeah, I have been to a lot of places I would say exactly that about. "It's great to visit but I would never want to live there".

They're retarded. Setting up foreign bank accounts is ALWAYS a PITA.

French are also fairly friendly if you learn French. It doesnt matter if your French is terrible because you've been there a week - if you're clearly trying, they will find you delightful. Half because you're trying so hard to join their culture, and half because French pronunciation is such a beast that you sound like George Bush crossed with Chekov ("Vere do you keep your nukular wessels").

Trying to ship a cat or car internationally is idiotic. Just dont.
