Another winner. There are a hundred tasks I could be doing right now but am loathe to start because I feel I won't do them well enough (washing the floor, etc.).

Same. I finally cleaned up my room which I was avoiding because I dont really have the shelf space for things to go but I decided putting it together as neatly as I could was better than nothing.

Also I'm always searching for the best routine and sometimes you just have to do.

It's the worst when you are already self-defeated so you don't start, isn't it? You're right; just start.

I was reading a blog post just now about decluttering and someone recommended the book "The House That Cleans Itself". It apparently presents a new philosophy of cleaning.

I can't say what her philosophy is yet because I've only just started reading it (checked out through the library via their online portal). I'll let you know if it's any good.

Marie Kondo's method helped me a lot a couple of years ago but I'm still bad at cleaning.

I like the podcast a slob comes clean. She makes cleaning and organizing seem doable. She has two books and a blog I've yet to check out.
