It's the worst when you are already self-defeated so you don't start, isn't it? You're right; just start.

I was reading a blog post just now about decluttering and someone recommended the book "The House That Cleans Itself". It apparently presents a new philosophy of cleaning.

I can't say what her philosophy is yet because I've only just started reading it (checked out through the library via their online portal). I'll let you know if it's any good.

Marie Kondo's method helped me a lot a couple of years ago but I'm still bad at cleaning.

I like the podcast a slob comes clean. She makes cleaning and organizing seem doable. She has two books and a blog I've yet to check out.

I've been reading "The House That Cleans Itself" and it's been very helpful so I recommend it! Hopefully you can find it in your local library (either in paper or an online version).

She's very much about not being a perfectionist and making the house suit your routine and nature rather than forcing yourself into cleaning and organizing standards you're not meant to fit into.

Thanks, I'll look into it.
So many books and so little time though.
