I think because of the level of issues back then that went unaddressed, our laws have swung the pendulum way too far to the other side and now those laws that were to protect are being used as weapons.

That's the only reason women were provided suffrage. Weaponization against the country and most importantly against men.

It's worth pointing out, the reason the temperance movement got legs is because women were abused. But this was almost exclusively an urban immigrant issue and disproportionately Irish.

That's not to say abuse didn't happen elsewhere. But the vast majority of women were well taken care, much loved, and enjoyed a fulfilled life. Which was returned from their children.

Idk, all Christian men except Baptists could drunk heavy. At least it seemed so at the time.
