Responsibility. It means that you're the one who has to put on their big boy pants and handle each crisis as it surfaces. The buck stops here is the watch words of a decent head of household. It's your job to figure it out and make it right for all.

It means that I set the overall direction of the household. I don't have final say over how all our time is spent or how all our money is spent, but if I say that we need to spend money in a particular way, spend time with groups of friends, promote or denigrate a particular kind of media- my opinion carries weight and sways the rest of the people living there.

For my part, it means that my choices need to be made reasonably. I need to make sure that when I voice an opinion or make a call one way or another that it's the best informed opinion I can make.
