why do you think they are pushing for 4 years of free university since "people cant afford university but they need it for reasons so lets make it free"

If it involves good practices (as in safe practices) and both manual and intellectual work such as reading plans and building/assembling stuffs accordingly, in the case of everything related to construction, from boats to electronics to houses, younameit, then yes, absolutely

It's sort of like super lego technic. And it naturally leads to always in demand real life jobs.

But you need the basics, reading and counting, grammar, vocabulary, algebra... You can add geometry for good measure

And those must be learnt at early age, because it's much harder when you're an adult and those are foreign concepts, in extreme cases (adult illiteracy) it's almost impossible to fix past a certain age

Got my GED at 15 and went to work. Buying my own car before any of my friends had one was cool.

I agree with this completely. A job = freedom. My parents didn't want me to work, I had to bother them constantly until they finally relented. It wasn't until I had my first paycheck that I could really take hold and do what I wanted.
