I just watched Conan on a whim for the first time sense I was like 12 catching it on Encore.
Are you telling me there is a book and it has some depth?
The Conan books aren't really all that deep. They're pulp action without much philosophy. The first movie sums up the universe pretty well. Solid entertainment.
It is what is known as "purple prose" a style that greatly inspired Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time.
The writing is amazing. There is some hidden history built into it.
The stories are short, bite sized and exceptional. Together, they're a great tapestry.

Robert Jordan also produced the Chronicles of Conan and The Further Chronicles of Conan which are pretty good.
Sprague did a number of books, as well. Nobody does it like Howard, but they were pretty darn faithful.
Robert E. Howard invented sword and sorcery fiction, for all intents and purposes.
Okay, well I'll add if to my audiobook que. I'm always looking for something good to pass the time. In that I did all the Wheel of Time again last year prior to the abortion that was the TV show. I'm certainly interested.
