Last nightt I opened a tin of Mac Baren Old Dark Fired. It definitely has a bold and smooth flavor. It almost smells a bit like pepper or hot sauce. The flake was nice with a good amount of moisture so it stayed together well, but it didn't take much to get lit. It is thinner than the Erinmore flake, but in all I would give this a solid 8/10.

I have two tins on the way in, looking forward to them!

Let me know what you think. It takes a while to light. I ended up letting it sit for about 10 minutes before packing it.

So, I finally came back to this after letting it be in a container with some other tins & one of those 72% boveda packs for a bit.

I really think my first go with it was just too dry, because this is just excellent.

It doesn't burn hot, and amazing flavor.

I am really glad you like it! I am planning on ordering another tin

That's a spicy meatball! I don't think I'm doing it justice tonight though, long day with Sutliff Heavy English and my palate is kind of wrecked. I'll give a proper go in the morning, seems like a solid 'wake up and move' smoke.

I think it pairs well with really dark coffee or spiced rum.
