What is the best liquor pairing that you've found to smoke with, that is under $30 per 750ml? At Sam's Club, you can get a 1.75L bottle of E&J for $20. I have found that on the rocks, it goes exceptionally well with rubustos and Connecticut's, as well as with the harsher pipe tobacco. On the slightly more expensive end, Cedar Ridge whiskey or Woodford Reserve on more of a "special occasion" such as hosting.

I got a bottle of Woodford Reserve as a gift a couple months ago, so that's what I've been pairing with mine if I decide to drink with my cigar. Prior to that, I would go with Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition ($37 for 750ml unfortunately) but I'm a homer for Irish whiskey. If I'm drinking a beer with it, I go with a stout since an IPA would burn out my tastebuds.

Never had brandy, but I'd be willing to give E&J a go.

My boss gave me two bottles of Woodford Reserve Blue Label for Christmas. I am saving those for a really special event. I've never really tried Irish Whiskey... I do know that Scotch-blended whiskey tastes worse than ass. Even Johnny Walker Blue is disgusting. I would recommend giving it a go, since you can pick up a small bottle for around $10. Just let the ice melt slightly, it'll take the bite off.

Cool, thanks for the recommendation. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had Scotch, and it's definitely my least favorite of American/Irish/Scotch whiskey. Irish whiskey is triple distilled and heated over smokeless peat, so I think that's what drew me to it prior to me smoking cigars. I used to only have cheap flagship American whiskey, and they tasted like a dirty chimney by comparison. I guess if you're more steeped in cigars and seek out the better brands, American whiskey is probably better.

Let me know what you think of the brandy and tobacco combo. I may pick up a bottle of jameson for cards tomorrow night.
