He's not wrong, per se, we are paying the "current" commodity price for gasoline in the United States.

He left out the part where that price was driven to it's current point by the inept and idiotic policies of the Biden administration.

[–] 12 pts

So he's pretending like the theoretical framework of capitalism is responsible for the manipulation of the supply of a commodity performed by an aspiring central-economy hegemony.

That would mean he is completely wrong. He's using the term "fair market" and applying it to a market that everyone knows isn't allowed to operate under the laissez faire principle.

There is nothing correct about his statement. He's just misusing terms he doesn't understand. How could you even say he's not wrong? The price of oil has never been a "fair market" price. The supply has always been artificially manipulated whether by OPEC, Russia, or the US.

This what faggot commies do.

They call the collapsing economy they’ve been manipulating for over a century “the free market.”

So they can convince stupid normies to give them complete control.

I fucking hate communists.

Part of it is the gas tax though, so you are in fact getting robbed at the pump.

[–] 2 pts

True. It is important to keep in mind that wherever the government took the tax off of at the gas pump the prices stayed the same.

Gasoline prices are elastic on the upside and relatively inelastic on the downside. Elasticity on the downside is even difficult to address with increases in crude supplies because those increases have to happen at such a large volume globally that it takes extremely large production increases to actually affect the price at the pump.

The current prices of gas prices are not perfectly directly related to supply, a huge amount of the price increases come from instabilities in the supply chains based on two primary movers:

  • Countries like America have offshored all critical industrial and other production in an effort to globalize the supply chain that supply chains are no longer behind our military protection but instead extremely fragile and under direct threat by an infinite amount of external forces. This is new only in the last 40 years and it will take time to fix that.

  • Built in pricing speculation based on the expectation that inflationary pressures, including increase of the interest rates by central banks, is going to put additional strains on the supply chains.

The way to resolve inflation issues is to power through this is to decouple from the global markets almost fully and bring our economies back behind our military lines.

It isn’t “capitalism” that’s driving the price, though. Any more than being forced off of a cliff as you’re chased by a psychotic gunman is a “suicide.”

[–] 2 pts

No, it's not capitalism. It's the dementia patient we have installed in the white house and/or his handlers.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

He’s pulling no strings. He’s a incompetent, but has some truly evil handlers.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

You mean putins inflationary climate change of the unvaccinated?

[–] 2 pts

He left out the part where that price was driven to it's current point by the inept and idiotic policies of the Biden administration.

What specific policies did Biden implement that caused the gas prices to skyrocket? I ain't find that shit using google, for sure. And duckduckgo is sus, these days.

May seem like I'm being lazy but I've looked and I cannot find specifically what Biden did to cause the gas prices to go up. If you can find me a reputable list/citation, dude, I will tell all 35 people on my morning meeting call, tomorrow, what he did. About 90% of the people where I work are not Democrats (not necessarily Republicans, but they don't like Dems and they would eat that kind of info up).

[–] 1 pt

It's odd when you think about it. What is exactly causing prices to rise like they are? The cancellation of the keystone project and revocation of drilling leases spooked the market harder than expected, and quite possibly started the upwards trend. But what's causing it to continue? World politics? OPEC laughing at Biden because he's the weakest of weaksauce? Or is something more sinister going on? Inept may be the wrong word, perhaps malicious may be better...

[–] 1 pt

This is where I am, too.

I don't know what Biden did, specifically, that caused this.

[–] 1 pt (edited )

As I understand it, the gas price hike started when we all 'stood with Ukraine' and tried to sanction Russia back to the Stone Age, only they were prepared and forced buyers of Russian oil to use rubles instead of USD.

[–] 2 pts

Don’t forget taxes on gas and everything else associated with it.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

When it's being artificially inflated because of government niggerisms it is.

What a sussy baka.

[–] 3 pts

I hate that i know what that sentence means.

lol This guy just killed any goodwill he earned with that meme.

[–] 1 pt

lol. remove all the government imposed sanctions and see what happens to the price.

I'm not saying it should be a free for all, but pretending like we live in a true capitalist society is a nice straw man argument for a fucking shithead liberal moron.

[–] 1 pt

Capitalism, or more correctly a free market economy (capitalism is a term invented by Marx as an epithet against the "oppressors"), requires sound money. Without sound money, true price discovery is not possible. We (basically the whole world) has not had sound money for over a century.

[–] 1 pt

It's not a Fair Market when the supply is being controlled and taxed by an entity that benefits from it's high price all while that entity lowers the value of the currency you use to buy it.

A Fair Market is one where supply and demand determines the cost. Our government is devaluing the dollar by printing it in excess, taxing the product to an unaffordable level and may..........may be limiting it's supply.

That is NOT a Fair Market.

Biden interfered with capitalism with his anti-supply policies. When Biden puts in place the price controls, you will love waiting in lines for gas under a system matched to even and odd numbers of calendar days depending on if your license plate ends in an even or odd number, just like Jimmy Carter had USA doing.

Nothing fair about that price with all of the market manipulation, terrible foreign policy, and inflation.

Tell that retard to do rent and Healthcare next with that same logic. Watch the ratio.

Played a stupid FDA agent.

Even more stupid in real life.
