Yeah its fear mongering to drive his sponsors sales I think. (I haven't watched the video yet)

I use SpaceWeatherLive it does have some identifiers in the App Store but not location.

I suspect the data from that application is likely from NOAA, which can be accessed directly from https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/#
You can sign up for all sorts of emails with forecasts.
