Prayer does not always have to include a request.
That is a very good point.
I think it is often better if our Prayers do not contain a personal request, but rather, a thought of something Good for someone we do not know.
None of us are theologians, none of us connect to God more perfectly than another. And my thoughts about what Prayer should or should not be are probably incorrect.
But I do think that one of the most important aspects about Prayer, and connecting to God, is Humility.
Never Praying for what you want, but stepping outside of yourself, and taking a moment to sincerely think about another Human, one that you may not know, and wishing them the best, in God's name.
I think that is important.

I highly doubt that. You come across as genuine, and I do not believe, if that is the case, there are no correct or incorrect thoughts about prayer. I take no exception with any portion of your reply to my comment. Again, thank you for leading this on Poal.

Of course!
Can I ask you for a favor?

No promises, but yes, ask away.
What are your thoughts on what prayer ought to be?
What are your thoughts on what prayer ought to be?
I don't know what it should be for anyone else.
But I find it most helpful when I take myself out of my own mind, and try to focus on someone else, and their well-being, as best as I can.
I pray at every pause. Red light, drive through, anytime my mind has nothing to do. I pray. I pray for everyone I have ever known and for those I will even know. They are worth Gods favor. I pray for their path to the the best one that is avaliable to them.
I do however think God separated races by mountains, deserts and seas for a reason.
