Tonight, we have much to Pray for.
Yesterday, I was informed that 's Mother went into the hospital for what was thought to be a relatively routine precautionary chest X-ray, however, upon examination, it was revealed that she had suffered a very serious, yet nearly asymptotic heart attack that has severely damaged one side of her heart in such a manner that her prognosis is not good. My current understanding of the situation is that she feels relatively fine, yet, like any sane person, she is understandably fearful as she confronts her potentially impending mortality.
Let us Pray for her health and comfort, and the health and comfort of her family as well, and that they all should be blessed with courage and grace and each others' Love during this tumultuous and uncertain phase of life.
Additionally, has selected a passage from John, and written a wonderful short prayer as well, which I think is worthy of our continued thought and meditation, giving recent events:
John 5:43-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Heavenly Father, tonight we ask you to give us the strength and knowledge to confront our enemies as you have taught, thru Love. You are aware of our weakness in our ability to do that, so we ask you to speak to our hearts so we can feel the Love you have for us. We ask this tonight in light of the current state of the world we live in.
We also ask for your healing hand to be placed upon the mother of our friend Stupidbird. Also, we ask that you give comfort to all affected by recent events.
