So much for digging two graves.
Did he ever get out?
Speaking of pebbles, that reminds me of something that happened to me as a kid. At that time, our neighborhood was completely unearthed to replace the pipes (an event that happens almost yearly nowadays in other areas, probably to launder money by deliberately installing pos rusted pipes that won't last long). I was hanging out with some boys when, for one reason or another, we started a huge shitstorm with a group of girls on the other side. We threw these hard mud pebbles at each other and I was always a crapshoot at it. But somehow, the god of accuracy must have been on my side because I managed to hit a certain girl in the face and cut her brow open. And it just so happened that her brother was around — he was a few years older and already a hulking mass of muscle. Was it my fault? Yeah, probably. Did I aim at her specifically? Not really. I knew he wouldn't listen to a word I said, so I literally bolted for the hills and hid in a field of tall grass as I watched them search for me. I later gave them the slip and went back home. A few weeks later, when I was out with my gran, I spotted her and her brother. She already healed and looked fine, so I decided to approach and maybe apologize, but then she pointed at me. Her brother asked loudly in anger, "Is that him? Is this the guy?" The sinking feeling was real. She looked long and hard, but then shook her head and told him no. Fortune favored me that day. I turned and left, didn't want to test my luck. Some time later during the winter, I fell flat on my face on the icy slope where all the kids played in the school yard and busted my brow, interrupting my play. Then later on, I caught a fistful in the face from that same bro for unrelated reasons, but no injuries that time. I guess karma really has its ways of paying back eventually.
One of my older sisters often attempted to trick me into jumping into the old well but fortunately, I wasn't as dumb as she had hoped. She had tricked me into doing dangerous things before and I had finally learned of her evil ways. She also tricked me into saying bad things or asking our mother rude or vulgar things that always resulted in a beating. She had no idea that I would one day grow bigger than her and I did not forget...
