Faggot is a bundle of sticks, and probably comes from the Latin Fascis, or bundle of wood, from which the Fasces, or a bundle of wood surrounding an axe, which was a symbol of Roman authority, and we get the term 'Fascist' from that.

Nobody really knows how the term came to be a pejorative for homosexuals, but it is suspected it was originally applied to old women who gathered and sold firewood, and eventually came to be applied to people like you.
