When I was a child, I loved all that I could see, When I was young, The world existing was enough for me. But one day someone said, That was not enough. You need to go out, And collect a bunch of useless stuff. Get a job, Close your heart, Work yourself to death, To prove you want the part. Rent a house, Get a lover, If he runs out of spirit, You know where to find another. Go sit in a building, The teacher's are a little bold. Now I'm worth my weight in something, But I'm not sure it's gold. I am ready for a family, I am ready to start my life, I've invested my twenties wisely So why am I filled with strife. My family approves, And I have a signed piece of paper. I am the ultimate feminist, So why am I not full of caper? When I was quite young, I'd meditate on mountains, And I'd bask in the sun.
