All right.
So, long ago, I have rejected all mythologies and stories that originate from anywhere outside of our peoples domain. For example, while I respect those that follow Christianity and look forward to engaging with them at a deeper level, I reject all middle eastern mythos and structures.
I see our people as having evolved in the snow and ice easily for over 500 000 years, perhaps longer. I am in search of our ancient gods and our ancient myths.
It is my contention that if we are to build a new future for our people, we have to first build mythological temples in our shared narratives that connect our peoples past to their future so that we can decorate our physical temples with the tapestries of those mythos.
I have found the road back to our gods through a narrative structure.
What path does your road back to our ancient gods look like?
The Old God came from the Land.
The Land of Endless Night or Eternal Day.
The Old God came from the North.
He taught us many things.
He showed us how to build great halls out of pine wood, and let us drink to our fill.
He set our great halls on fire when we drank.
He is the embodiment of the Ice, and the Fire that Warms.
And he is a God that isn't just ours.
There were other people, snow-ridden and ice-packed,
To the East,
So our God demanded we sail,
And we did,
With salt cod and not enough water,
Until we reached land, inhabited by seal-skin wearers,
Who fished for sharks from the depths,
And taught us what was below
