They didn't give a shit that the same industry was addicting and killing people with opiods. They continue to push alcohol and garbage foods, knowing what it does to the human body. It's embarrassing the people think the government actually gives a fuck about their health.

Governments are gangs of criminals, murderers, blackmailers, bandits, and liars.

This is not even remotely hyperbole or exaggeration.

This is what they actually are, verbatim, at their core.

A politician is always a self-interested liar, without exception.

I'll trust a gangster and a warlord before I'll trust a man in a suit.

The only difference between them is the warlord will stab you in the front and tell you to your face what he did to you.

The politician will stab you in the back, and claim it was the other guy, while also saying he was "powerless to stop it from happening, but we'll get em next time."

What will it take for people to recognize the king is naked?

Forget the king being naked.

The boy who cried wolf has been ripped to shreds by a pack of actual wolves.

None of the people who can convey future events will ever be listened to soon enough. It's always a hindsight moment; that's actually the whole point of the story... The idea is helping as many people as possible realize the emperor has no clothes. You'll be hoping forever for people to listen when you first tell them something is around the corner. You've got to give up on that idea.
