That was always one of my favorite aspects of Chris' work. He even makes his own tools to make the custom parts. He is truly a patient and meticulous craftsman. I highly recommend watching the individual build videos as they will show you just much work goes into these parts and tools. They're highly therapeutic and educational.

The finished product was fantastic. I made a grandfather clock in High School and have maintained the movement over the years, but , hell I am a stumbling Neanderthal compared to that "amateur" machinist.
