Almost worth it to rent one (with full insurance) and drive it into a deep puddle (with escape door unlatched) just to watch the fireworks.

I probably be okay with that if they gave me an unbelievably deep discount like basically free but then what do you do if there's no chargers? so you'd be completely fucked, that's everyone's main beef also that they're stupid as well.

When I rent a car, I have typically flown into a place and have limited time there. I will refuel at the closest gas station to where I need to drop off the car, just minutes before dropping it off. If that was an EV, that would mean I would have to give up hours of my time to sit somewhere and wait for a fucking charge. No bloody way.

Or if they had enough charge to allow you to complete your trip and then bring it back to the rental area and they could charge it. But to your point if you have a x amount of time you don't want to be wasting it sitting in a fucking charging Depot.
