This is a photo (c7.alamy.com) of an adult female cougar in the rear with two cubs. Those cubs are three to four months old. Their mother's at least three or four years old, at least the size of a border collie, around two hundred pounds, all teeth, claws, and muscle. The ones that grow in the wild in Colorado are on average significantly larger than their cousins anywhere else in North America. You wouldn't want to mess with them.
