The Taliban made most of their strategic and economic gains and advances when they spent the early years of the western occupation providing information to western armies on Arab cells and local warlords employing them. Western armies captured and killed mostly foreigners who were trying to carve the southern part of the country into fiefdoms. Then suddenly the Taliban found itself almost entirely comprised of Afghan nationals with guys from neighboring countries who were extended tribal kinsmen. Anyone who survived those purges, ended up in Guantanamo Bay, and what I found baffling is that the Arabs who were released returned to Afghanistan and are in leadership positions in the Taliban. That's going to be a problem for Afghans soon. Americans who survive the vaxx are going to be forced to realized the painful truths that their ancestors learned that the boomers didn't want them to learn.
