This has nothing to do with human safety.
It's all about "them" watching you own nothing and being unhappy.

I can see a huge uptick in people buying cars from 2020. It'll be like Cuba here in another 10 years.
Anybody that’s been following along knows that on most models, it was 2015-2020 that they added auto shutoff and full, realtime tracking.
Ai is a good resource to find a target that doesn’t have that shit.
Side note: if I win the billion dollar lotto, I won’t buy a new vehicle. I’ll likely build an older ford high boy with a 7.3 that can run multifuel.
Or a Chevy with an older 6.6 diesel.
If you have the option, get something that takes multi fuel or at least the fuel stores.
If I was a billionaire in another life I don't even think I would drive anywhere. For some reason in my mind I'm feeling living in the Azores in a corner apartment overlooking the water. I don't speak Portuguese but that's even better. I'd read the paper everyday and listen to music with my window open.
This would be heaven. I shall do it in Texas.
I see a booming future business opportunity. Sober drivers on call to drive drunk car owners cars safely to their homes...
Won't autonomous driving just do that anyways soon? Sounds like a stopgap scam to charge people with older devalued vehicles higher insurance premiums... oh you don't have the camera babysitting you? That's an extra few hundred a month b/c you drive an older and 'less safe' vehicle.
“Wingman” is already a thing.((()))
Seems like the kind of thing that an engineer will allow people to bypass. For example, in order to bypass the automatic engine shut off at stops, I bought a $10 cable and plugged it in between two other cables and it took 3 minutes.
It will also be able to tell if you watching the road or using your cell phone while driving. I saw a list in an article of things that will "officially" watch and listen for. We all know that it will be watching and listening for everything not just what's on the official list.
