This guy is ranting about a machine and procedures. Yes, he's correct in his rant, but the machine doesn't care. That's the way it was built, and it won't change.

Yes, I get those same messages for the same reason, which I promptly ignore. No bulk mailer ever sees me reading their emails. Yes, they think I'm not getting them, and they're correct, I am not. So when I log on to my account I bypass their request to update my email address. Problem solved.

Same, I just don't read my email. If it's something I'm expecting, I'll check for it, but otherwise I don't care.

There's also the issue of so much advertising in actual emails that spam filters sometimes catch it and reject it.

Companies like to verify that you don't have catch-alls or other issues by sending verification email that you don't see. I have a number of verifiers blocked and in order to change my address on a couple of things I have to go in and disable about a half-dozen rejections.

At least with my work email, Outlook doesn't load any images unless you explicitly allow them. Honestly I have no idea how most consumer freemail services tend to handle it, if at all.
