People are now buying secondhand gifts. The sheer numbers are staggering—in a recent survey, 82% of consumers said they’re more likely to purchase pre-owned items for holiday presents.

Thrift store shopping is a hobby of mine, I can find many interesting and unusual things at a great price. In the last 4 or 5 years the cost has more than doubled for anything thrifty, but it is still a far better deal than online shopping. For specific items I still use eBay, but if you’re just looking for a fun item, thrifting is a great way to spend an afternoon.
