Well, I have a hardness of 17, and the softener is set at 19, so yeah, I don't have hard water.... its so cheap, I will let it slide for her.

I am missing something. You said if you have hard water. I dont have hard water since I have a softener.

So does it really do shit?

It's a water softener. If your water has already been softened, it isn't doing much.

It's not hurting the process of washing, you're just not getting the benefit of the additive.
