This user, attempting to evade his ban and really testing even my great capacity for patience and flexibility, CONTACTED ME to say the following: "[The ban message] does provide a link to the list of banned users for that specific sub ( /s/subname/bannedusers) that shows if a ban is permanent or temporary."
So go to /s/thebansub/bannedusers if you want to check your ban duration. There are no permabans anymore.

BANNED through Ramadan. There should be a notification of some sort. Hopefully it at least tells you ban duration in the original message.
