Listing to the 911 calls and people calling family still gives me chills, brings a tear to my eye.

Horrible. This country was never made whole from that.

I forget the name but a book I read about the various stories of the victims has always stuck out in my mind. One of the victims young children was super excited about Halloween but their neighborhood had very few trick or treaters. I forget whether it was before or after they went trick or treating but the dad came to the door in a variety of costumes to trick or treat at their own home. The little kid had no clue it was him but was immensely excited by all the people who came by trick or treating.

It's easy to remember these people as a number. It's only when you learn the human side of their stories that it hits home. Many wonderful people were lost b/c of a few pieces of garbage that day. That story always stuck out to me b/c of the simple joy and love that was shown by him going above and beyond to make his daughters halloween special. It's also striking to think this was before social media truly zombified people. He wasn't doing it for the "likes" or "circle-jerking". It was just love. I've often thought that the loss of that one good man was reason enough for outrage.
