I wanted to say thank you to everyone, I appreciate your well wishes.

I don't want this to be morbid, but we knew this was coming for a long, long time. Preparations had been made almost a decade ago for this event. We're all just happy it was quick, and that the long goodbye has finally ended.

Both my parents made arrangements for cremation, and both have specific wishes as what to do with the ashes. My father wishes to go to some fishing spots, so we're all going to go our separate ways and find some secluded, out of the way spot by a river to say our final goodbye.

Mamabird is doing good, she's...sadly relieved. She's wanted to move on for a while, to find a new home, and that's something I urged them to do for years. No need for a giant house and yard that's hard for a family to care for, let alone two elderly people. We finalized the services today, that was all prepaid, it was just a signature on a paper. We're just dealing with the life insurance now, as soon as that comes through she'll find a new place closer to those who can help her on a daily basis.

I've already taken what I wanted from the family artifacts...all the photos, a couple of local history pieces. When the safe is opened there's something in there I'd like to have as well, but it's not necessary...just, I'd like to have it.

To be honest, it's harder to write this than was to say goodbye, but say goodbye we all eventually must. Thank you all again.
