I always use electrical tape and wrap each tie at least 5 times. This ensures if the next guy want to touch it, he didn't charge enough. Also, I leave the excess so I can re-use them. Most importantly I like to use different sizes of tie and color of tape for each time I need one. It allows me to sleep at night knowing I have embraced diversity.
