On the one hand: I kinda want to be the brave goat and wear my heart on my sleeve. On the other: my self-preservation-senses are tingling. Don't get me wrong, ultimately my internal debate is a selfless one: no one (as far as I know: besides the usual alphabetty suspects) can connect my main account to my IRL identity, so that's not really the issue. It's the vast amounts of content which would get lost forever, which I lament.

I nuked my maybe 5 years account one week ago. Voat is not what I joined anymore, my account got locked for a month or more, no explanation given, and the wild West thing was weird to me. But hey, you should do as you feel like. If you delete it, you have the option to maintain the content unlinked.

might be talking about a bug where if you were banned by any sub you weren't able to delete your account. I believe it was discovered that anyone who was banned from SBBH were unable to self-delete. If I recall correctly, the bans were reversed so users could delete their accounts.

No, I really couldn't login. It said my account was locked for security reasons, but I didn't use a wrong password. My best guess is the "use it or lose it"thing, I think the put inactive accounts in limbo for a while, and then decided to release them for some reason. Anyway, it's nuked now.
