Hey, my key lime pie recipe I posted is one I've perfected for years after being unable to find decent key lime pie after having left Florida. The recipe was so detailed that I was criticized for it being too long in the comments. I will post a picture of the one I in fact made for pie day.
EDIT: here is your picture
EDIT 2: death to the yeast tyrants
That looks pretty good!! Finally, someone made a pie!!!!!!!
Is there some kind of topping that goes on that or is it eaten as is? I always thought key lime would be green, not yellow. lol, I don't know much about pie.
By the way, I don't use yeast. I made a killer sourdough starter and it makes it's own natural yeasts.
Thanks, I was happy with it.
I serve it with whipped cream, but rather than pre-top I like to use fresh made and let everyone add their own amount.
The lime juice and egg yolk will come out yellow in the milk if natural. If you see green key lime pie it means it either is using artificial lime flavoring or at least food coloring. If it's light yellow and not a nice bright yellow they likely used bottled like juice and not fresh (still good and way better than fake but an easy way to tell).
